Jazz Age Ball–an evening of fun
My husband and I attended the Jazz Age Ball last night, along with a few hundred others, most of whom dressed in period clothing, vintage and reproduction. After lessons in couples Charleston, a six-piece band struck up a selection of Twenties music and everyone danced–some were very impressive! Special “bootleg” cocktails, an auction, a tap dance performance, and a bawdy burlesque show rounded out the evening. Proceeds benefitted the renovation of Richmond’s historic Byrd Theater, built in 1928.
