Roaring Twenties Party to Usher in The Impersonator!
The Library of Virginia and the Art Deco Society are sponsoring a Roaring Twenties party on Friday, October 4 (Richmond First Fridays) to launch The Impersonator. The event will feature dancing (Charleston lessons on request!) to music played on an antique Victrola (help crank the handle), a champagne reception, and my talk on Why the Roaring Twenties is the Most Fascinating Decade in American History. Most people will be wearing Twenties or Thirties clothing. The event begins at 5:30 with music and dancing lessons, my talk is scheduled for 6:00 with the reception following, then a book signing and more music and dancing. This is open to the public–free underground parking at the Library on Broad Street and 9th.
