Patriots Colony Talk/Signing/Dinner

UnknownIt was a busy evening at Patriots Colony, a CCRC in Williamsburg where all the residents are retired military. I gave a talk on the Roaring Twenties and Prohibition, and why that was the best decade to set a mystery. Then they had a cocktail party (with “bootleg” drinks and lovely hors d’oeuvres), a book signing, and a banquet. The “bad” news is, the crowd of 90+ residents was so enthusiastic that I ran out of books. Unknown-1The good news is, I’m bringing reinforcements to them next week. Several residents bought multiples (one man bought 5!) for Christmas gifts, and I guess I wasn’t expecting that. Live and learn, right? (Thanks to Thomas, the official photographer, for the 20+ pictures.)
