I should publish a book every month–
–then I could have fun parties like this more often!
The Flapper Friday party was a huge success–delicious food (crabcakes were so wonderful, guests requested more–and they brought out more!), bootleg champagne for the “wets” and Virgin Mary Pickford Punch for the “dries.” Charleston lessons, period music, displays of antique flapper dresses and accessories. I gave a short talk on weird-but-true facts about Prohibition that didn’t bore people too much.
Here I am, right, with the president of the Art Deco Society who clearly knows how to dress like a flapper. I wish the trash can wasn’t in the background . . . I must speak to my photographer (my husband.)
