An Evening at the Library of Virginia

earl-hamner-jr-1-sizedLast night I attended a marvelous program at Virginia’s state library to honor Earl Hamner, writer and creator of many television programs, movies, and books. (The ones you’ll likely remember are “The Waltons” and “Falconcrest.”) Mr. Hamner is a few months shy of 90 and sharp as a tack–a charming gentleman. He recently donated his papers to the library, which was the reason for the program. It was a pleasure talking with him at the small reception before the program.  There must have been 150 people there.
